Fortunately, this only affected those who lived in the capital city since they were in close proximity to him. He needed guidance and support to break out of his mindset and while his loyal advisors should be the ones to do this, they too had been turned and inadvertently made the palace dangerous to explore. King Usugurai also secluded himself inside his palace and did not want anyone to visit him, but his close friend Kyōfu Kokufuku wanted to help bring him back to reality. However, he is afraid of the creatures that roam the city and palace, and so he sent out a distress signal to enlist the aid of nearby travellers. He adds to his request that the creatures should not be harmed, as there is a way to restore them. He just needs to be escorted to the King and console him so that he could move on.
